IICS student Lyn Ozgun, coached by Sencer Horasan, continues to compete in an extremely successful 2017 season. After being selected for the Turkish National Equestrian Show Jumping Team Squad, Lyn, partnered by her horse, Kellox de Messistert, successfully took many individual podia finishes. She completed a fantastic clear round, receiving a standing ovation and immediate compliments of the parkour designer, in her category’s Grand Prix at the Balkan Games in Bulgaria in August. She maintains an excellent standard of performance this season competing in Ankara and winning the prestigious Stars Cup of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkish Republic. She placed fourth in the Prime Minister’s Stars Cup in Istanbul. We are wishing Lyn the best of luck and success in the final stretch of the Turkish Tour as she jumps to close the season in Adana.

Lyn has been riding since she was two and a half years old. Starting with the pony league, Lyn quickly showed her dedication and passion for riding. By age nine she had her full license for equestrian showjumping. Lyn has competed on the Turkish National Equestrian Show Jumping Team since 2016. She successfully took the individual Silver Medal in the Children’s Grand Prix and overall individual Bronze Medal in her category at the Balkan Games in Romania in September 2016. Her international success continued this year at the 2017 Balkan Equestrian Games in Bulgaria. Lyn and her team have many achievements including winning the KCC Mini Team Cup this winter at Kemer this winter. As her riding skills improve, she maintains a demanding but fulling training schedule stating,

“I work extremely hard together with my coach Sencer Horasan, my horse Kellox, and my teammates from Team Horasan to achieve success. It’s not easy and I owe much to my coach and team for their friendship and encouragement. I would like to express my thanks to all my teachers at IICS for their support throughout the year.”
